Kater CLI Find and understand library

kater library list

Lists the agents, skills and workflows you can read, each with its label, path and description.

It lists each connection’s shared ai_tools/ folder and your own, which it marks yours. The Agents page in Kater lists the same files.

Examples

Terminal window
# List the agents, skills and workflows you can read
kater library list
# List only the workflows
kater library list --kind workflows
# List only the skills of snowflake_prod_connection
kater library list --connection snowflake_prod_connection --kind skills

Options

OptionDescription
--connection <name>Lists only this connection’s library, by its folder name under connections/, such as snowflake_prod_connection. Leave it out to list every connection you can see.
--kind <kind>Lists only agents, skills or workflows. Leave it out to list all three.

It also takes the global options --json, --kater-root, --scope and --help.

What each one shows

  • A starter also shows how to start it, and its group, such as Starter /brief-me: Brief me (Understand). See Starters.
  • A scheduled workflow also shows when it runs, its time zone and its cron line.
  • The order is agents, then skills, then workflows. In each, the list goes by connection, shared before yours, then by label.

--json adds each one’s name, scope, tags and starter, which is its whole starter block, or null. The tag kater-default marks one that Kater ships. To use one, read its file at the path that the list shows.
