# kater explore preview

Reads a card preview's progress and chart, or stops it.

A preview is one run of a card on the warehouse.

## Where a preview lives

A preview lives in the memory of the Kater process that started it. Only that process can read it or stop it. In a terminal, each command is a new process, and `kater explore card preview` waits for its chart. So these commands work only where one Kater process runs several commands, such as the Kater MCP server. A preview's reference also expires: then preview the card again.

## Examples

# Stop that preview while it still runs
kater explore preview cancel --request-file preview.json
```
