Kater CLI Share and administer admin connection

kater admin connection show

Shows a connection's settings, each problem in its connection.yaml, and whether Kater has a credential for it.

Nothing reaches the warehouse, so you can run it at any time. It exits with an error code when the file has an error.

Examples

Terminal window
# Check a connection's file and its credential
kater admin connection show snowflake_prod_connection
# Get the file's revision, for kater admin connection update --expected-revision
kater admin connection show snowflake_prod_connection --json

Arguments

ArgumentDescription
<connection-name>The connection to show, such as snowflake_prod_connection.

Options

It also takes the global options --json, --kater-root, --scope and --help.

What it shows

  • connection is the file as Kater reads it. When the file has an error, it is null.
  • diagnostics gives each problem in the file by line, and where the selection and the synced files disagree.
  • warehouse_credential says whether the server has a credential for the warehouse. It also says whether the credential agrees with each setting that it names, such as account_matches.
  • revision is the file’s revision, for kater admin connection update --expected-revision.
