Kater CLI Your terminal scope

kater scope list

Lists the places you can work in, each with the path that kater scope use takes.

For each connection, it lists the DB datasets and the shared models, then each workspace that you can read.

Examples

Terminal window
# List the places you can work in
kater scope list
# Save the shared layer of snowflake_prod_connection as your scope
kater scope use connections/snowflake_prod_connection/modeling

Options

It also takes the global options --json, --kater-root, --scope and --help.

What each place says

  • kind is source for a connection’s DB datasets, shared for its shared models, or workspace.
  • path is the path to give kater scope use, such as connections/snowflake_prod_connection/modeling/db_objects for the DB datasets.
  • label is the name people see. The DB datasets show Database Models, and the shared models show Shared.
  • For a workspace, owner and mine say whose workspace it is. brainstorm marks a copy in a brainstorm folder.
