Kater CLI Pages you have open or were sent
kater open
Opens a Kater page in one of your Kater tabs, or in a new tab.
Give it a page’s address or an object’s path, or only keys to change on the page you have open. It moves only to Kater pages.
Examples
# Open the ad_reporting dashboard in the tab you work inkater open "/workspace/connections/snowflake_prod_connection/workspaces/ad_reporting?view=dashboard"# Open the paid media performance app in a new tabkater open /app/app_2439965aaef44122926eb42b57f4c8b8/viewing --new# Open the spend_by_platform query in tab t2kater open connections/snowflake_prod_connection/workspaces/ad_reporting/query_contracts/spend_by_platform.sql --tab t2# On the spend_by_platform query's page, show the spend_mix chart and the query's SQLkater open --set chart=spend_mix --set sql=open# Hide the query's SQL againkater open --set sql=Arguments
Options
It also takes the global options --json, --kater-root and --help.
Which addresses it takes
- A page’s address, such as
https://app.kater.ai/app/app_2439965aaef44122926eb42b57f4c8b8/viewing, or the same address from/app/. - An object’s path. A path that starts with
connections/is from the content root. Any other path is from the folder you are in. - Anything else is refused.
What moves, and what stays
- History. A new object goes into the tab’s history, so Back returns to the page before. A change of other keys on the same object replaces the entry.
- Unsaved edits. A tab with edits that are not saved stays where it is.
- Paused sharing. Every tab stays where it is while sharing is paused.
- In your own terminal,
kater openopens the link in your browser whenever no tab moved.
What it answers
The answer gives the page’s url, the tab it moved, and whether that tab is the one a conversation followed. pushed says that the move went into the tab’s history. why says why no tab moved, and then an agent gives the link in the chat.
