Kater CLI Build and check test

kater test update

Marks a draft test as checked, so that the test counts toward the model's readiness.

Use it after you compare the test’s answer with a number that you trust. It takes draft: true out of the test and changes nothing else.

Examples

Terminal window
# Mark a test of the shared ad_reporting model as checked
kater test update clicks_impressions_by_platform --model semantic.ad_reporting --checked
# Name the file, when your own tests and the shared layer's both have a test of this name
kater test update clicks_impressions_by_platform --model semantic.ad_reporting --checked --file connections/snowflake_prod_connection/modeling/kater_objects/tests/ad_reporting.sql

Arguments

ArgumentDescription
<name>The test’s name.

Options

OptionDescription
--connection <name>The connection, by its folder name under connections/. Leave it out when --file names the connection, or when only one connection has the --model.
--model <model>Required. The model that the test checks, such as semantic.ad_reporting.
--checkedRequired. Takes out draft: true. Give it after you check the test’s answer.
--file <file>The test file, by its path. Give it when more than one of the model’s test files has a test of this name, such as the shared layer’s and your own.
