Kater CLI Share and administer admin access

kater admin access restrict

Stops a folder inheriting the access of the folder above it.

Only the folder’s own grants then apply to it and to everything in it. Use it to keep a folder for the people you name.

Examples

kater admin access restrict connections/snowflake_prod_connection/workspaces/ad_reporting
# Then let one person view it
kater admin access grant connections/snowflake_prod_connection/workspaces/ad_reporting --level viewer --user teammate@example.com

Arguments

ArgumentDescription
<folder>The folder to restrict, from the content root, such as connections/snowflake_prod_connection/workspaces/ad_reporting. Files always inherit, so give a folder.

Options

It also takes the global options --json and --help.

Before you restrict a folder

  • People who had access only through the folder above lose it. Give them grants on the folder first.
  • Organisation admins keep full access to a restricted folder.
  • kater admin access show lists the grants that the folder no longer inherits, under Access removed.
  • kater admin access inherit undoes it.

You need the Manager level on the folder, or the access:administer permission.
