Monday Brief
Every Monday at 08:00, a brief of what moved last week in the metrics you watch, insight first, as a page that opens in Kater.
Prompt for your agent’s scheduler
Run my Kater workflow "Monday Brief" on a schedule.
---
Schedule: Every Monday at 08:00, in my own time zone (cron 0 8 * * 1).
At each run, read connections/<connection>/ai_tools/workflows/monday-brief/workflow.md with the Kater tools and follow it. Do not stop to ask me questions during a run.
If the schedule in that file is no longer the one above, say so first in your answer, so that the task can be changed to match.
Copy the prompt from AI Tools › Workflows in Kater to get your connection’s path filled in.
What it does
Your agent briefs you on the latest complete week, Monday to Sunday, against the four weeks before it, since a single week of email or SMS visits is small. It writes the brief as a page in Kater: the one thing that matters most, the week in figures, what moved, each with its figures, a small chart and a follow-up question it already answered, what held steady in one line, and what to do this week, each with the starter to run next. Every figure is a Kater tag over a query in your Monday Brief workspace, so the page runs again whenever you open it. It never stops to ask: a metric with no verified definition is left out and named at the end.
The digest template
The page uses app-kit’s digest template, which reads best in the Journal theme. It draws the figures, the sparklines and the channel bars from the queries the page names, so the page types no figure. See Reports, decks, threads and briefs.
The schedule
The workflow’s frontmatter holds its schedule. Your data team can change it, or you can copy the file to your own ai_tools/workflows/ folder and change it there.
schedule:
cron: "0 8 * * 1"
Run it in your agent
Connect Kater to the agent first (Connect your agent). Then ask it to schedule the workflow, such as /schedule-workflow monday-brief. When your agent can set up its own scheduled tasks, it does. Otherwise, open the workflow on AI Tools › Workflows in Kater, select Copy prompt, and paste the prompt into your agent’s scheduler:
- Claude Cowork. Select Scheduled, then New task and Set up manually. Paste the prompt, and set Frequency to Weekly on Monday at 08:00.
- Codex. Open Automations in a project, add a schedule, and enter
0 8 * * 1 as a custom schedule. - Cursor. On cursor.com/automations, add a Scheduled trigger with Custom (cron)
0 8 * * 1, paste the prompt as the instructions, and add Kater under Tools.
See Scheduled workflows for the schedule block and time zones.
