Kater SQL Functions Field declarations
Field declarations
A declaration makes a new field: a dimension, a measure or a custom calculation.
Write each one as a whole column of a model’s final SELECT. A field that you select as it is, such as orders.region, passes through with the same kind. See Fields.
| Function | What it does |
|---|---|
DIMENSION | Declares a dimension: a value on each row that a reader groups by and filters by. |
MEASURE | Declares a measure: an aggregate that Kater works out again at each reader’s grouping. |
CUSTOM_CALCULATION | Declares a custom calculation: a value worked out over the rows of the query’s result, such as a rank or a running total. |
NOT_ADDITIVE_ACROSS | Names the dimensions that a measure cannot be added up across, such as an amount across currencies. |
EXCEL | Writes a field’s whole value as an Excel formula over the columns of the query’s result. |
