Kater SQL Language
File shape
How a Kater SQL file holds its frontmatter and its statements, and what happens when you save it.
- One model per file. YAML frontmatter between
---lines, then one SQL statement. - Query and test files can hold several. Each block has its own frontmatter.
- A scratch file holds statements. One frontmatter block, then any number of statements separated by
;. - Every save is formatted and compiled. A save that adds a compile error is refused. A custom SQL dataset keeps its layout, and a scratch file saves as written.
